To accommodate the additional doors, MINI has extended the wheelbase of the Cooper by 72 millimeters and stretched the body by 172 millimeters. According to MINI, the somewhat more practical Cooper will be launched with two engines: the basic Cooper with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder; the Cooper S gets an additional cylinder and thus a 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
